My frist encounter photographing a bobcat. I was on the way home from work at 6 am when I saw a cat in an empty field. Realizing it was most likely not a domestic cat, I said to myself " I know that's not a bobcat!" I turned around and pulled over and grabbed my camera. 

As I snapped some pics something told me to see if I could get to the other side for a closer shot. Doing so I found a trail right near where the bobcat was last seen. It was no longer there, but a pair of curious coyotes came around and when they saw me they took off. At this time there was a bush next to me and as I took a small step towards the bush the bobcat jumped out and darted a few feet ahead of me. It then sat there and allowed me to snap some pics and here we are.
